SERVED AS SURGEON IN BOER WAR - Dr P.E. ADAMS. The death occurred on Monday three days after his 80th birthday, of Dr Percy Edward Adams of 1 Chapel road West Ealing. He had been associated with the Scout Movement in Ealing for many years, and was at one time Troup Sergeant of the 8th Ealing Company.
Educated at Berkhamsted School, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, and a Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians, in 1895. Three years later he took a the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine, and Doctor of Medicine. Afterwards he became a member of the British Medical Association.
He served as a civil surgeon in the Boer War, and was a temporary captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps in the 1914-18 war. In the last war he was deputy commissioner of medical services for the Ministry of Pensions. Other appointments he held were those of surgeon at the Cottage Hospital, Fleet; house surgeon at Dorset County Hospital and house physician at Queens Hospital for Children. The funeral will take place on Monday. A service will be held at St Johns Church. West Ealing at 12 noon. Interment will be at Brookwood Cemetery, Woking, where his parents are buried.
