Oswald enrolled as a War Munition Volunteer MT1139/1/0 on the service of King and Country, for World War 1 from 1917-1918
On the 24th April, 1917, he left Australia for Great Britain as a War Worker under aggreement with the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia for employment under the Imperial Government.
He returned to Australia on 25th February, 1919, on completion and termination of this agreement.
His record during the period of employment was registered as satisfactory.
A Certificate No. 0332/5513/663 was issued on the 28th June, 1918, certifying his Service to King & Country.
