The Queen has been pleased to grant unto Charles Robert Mackrell of Collingbourne Ducas, near Pewsey in the county of Wiltshire, Esq., her royal licence and authority that he may, in compliance with a clause contained in te last will and testament, and also of testifying his grateful and affectionate regard to the memory of his maternal uncle, Isaac Cragg Smith, late of Merton Abbey in the county of Surrey, Esq., henceforth take and assume the surname of Smith only, instead of his present surname of Mackrell; and also to command that the said royal concession and declaration by registered in Her Majesty's College of Arms, otherwide the said royal licence and permission to be void and of non effect.
