In the Name of God Amen. I Margaret Edger of No 96 Kingsland Road in the parish of St Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex widow being of sound and disposing mind and understanding do this twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty seven made this my last Will and Testament Whereby I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Edger all my plate linen china and glass I wish all my household furniture to be sold and the money produced by the sale of the above household furniture to be deposited in the National Provident Institution Bloomfield Street Finsbury Circus and whatever monies I may have there or elsewhere I give and bequeath the whole after my just debts are paid to my daughter Margaret Edger for her sole use and benefit exclusively In case of her death before she attains the age of Twenty one I wish whatever property I may be possessed of to be equally divided between my brothers Thomas and John Bressey and my sister Elizabeth Bressey In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament set and subscribed my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid Margaret Edger signed sealed and delivered by the said Testator Margaret Edger as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request and in her presence have herein unto subscribed our names as witness thereto Geo Watts George Blenkarn Witnesses I beg to request Mr Thomas Bressey to see these my last wishes carried into effect

Appeared Personally George Blenkarn of No 96 Kingsland Road in the County of Middlesex warehouseman and George Watts of no 1 Southampton Street Camberwell in the County of Surrey Wine Merchant and made oath and first the said George Blenkarn for himself saith that he is the …….. and writer of and also one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of a Margaret Edger formerly of No 25 Bishopsgate Street in the city of London but late of No 6 North Place Kingsland Road in the County of Middlesex widow deceased same being now hereunto annexed bearing date the twenty fourth day of June one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven beginning thus “In the Name of God Amen I Margaret Edger” ending thus “set and subscribed my hand and seal the day and year aforesaid and thus subscribed Margaret Edger and referring more particularly to the following addition to the said Will viz “I beg to request Mr Thos Bressey to see there my last wishes carried into effect he deposes and said that on perceiving and inspecting the said Will he discovered that he had omitted to insert the appointment of Mr Thomas Bressey the deceaseds brother as Executor thereof which he was previously directed to do by the said deceased and that he thereupon inserted the said Clause at the end of the said Will in manner as now appears thereon and that the said deceased then executed the said Will in the presence of him and his fellow deponent who subscribed their names as witnesses attesting the due execution thereof And the said George Watts for himself saith that he is the other subscribed witness ac to the said Will and referring to the said appointment of the said Mr Thomas Bressey as executor thereof he deposes and says that the same was made and inverted by his fellow deponent or prior to the execution of the said Will by the said deceased as aforesaid Geo Blinkarn Geo Watts On the sixteenth day of March 1840 the said George Blenkarn and George Watts were duly sworn to the Truth of the Affidavit Before me F T Pratt Jennings
PROVED at London 23 March 1840 before the worshipful Frederick Thomas Pratt Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oath of Thomas Bressey the brother the Executor according to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
